EXCLUSIVE: "Why are you acting like this" - Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh recall scenes being chopped from films and character arc being changed

Jacqueline Fernendez and Rakul Preet Singh have been a prominent part of the film industry for years. Both have also shared screens with Bollywood A-listers like Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and more. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Jacqueline and Rakul shared their experiences on dealing with their roles being edited and chopped. This is not new to Bollywood and many actors have faced the same thing for years. When asked, both agreed to have faced this practice and shared how they feel about it. Rakul Preet Singh says, “This takes away from the weight of your character”. She says this does not happen very often but when it happens, it’s impactful. She further shared she dislikes when the script is locked and then it gets edited. “I like it when the script is locked and you okay it and it is shot like that. What happens is, over the journey, if they plan to change the arc of the character, you are like ‘I look like a [dork].”

On the other hand, Jacqueline shared how she had to seem chirpy and bubbly for a character in one of her movies and the reason of her role being so was chopped which lead to questions like “ Why are you acting like this”. On the work front, Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh’s Attack – Part 1 with John Abraham released on April 1.
